Lore & Whimsy was founded in July 2023, when I finally decided to take my hobby and turn it into a business. What started as me making things I loved has grown into a shop that I run entirely on my own.

The name Lore & Whimsy actually has a bit of a story behind it (as do all things). Before the shop, I had a Bookstagram called Lore of the Books, which was inspired by some of my favorite things: mythology, legends, and, of course, books. I knew I wanted “Lore” in the name of my shop, and when I was trying to come up with the rest, one of my best friends, Lauren, suggested “Whimsy.” It fit perfectly, and Lore & Whimsy was born!

I started out with just stickers and bookmarks, but things have grown quite a bit since then. Today, I make everything from apparel (yes, sometimes in-house!) to keychains, bags, pillows, and all sorts of other bookish goodies.

And because Lore & Whimsy is a one-woman shop, I’m the person behind all of it! I design the products, make the apparel, pack your orders, take the photos, answer your emails, and keep everything running behind the scenes. It can definitely be a lot to juggle sometimes, but I genuinely love getting to do all of it (most of the time, anyways).

I also want you to feel good about where your money is going when you shop with me. All Lore & Whimsy products based on published works are officially licensed, so you can shop knowing that the authors and rights holders behind the stories you love are being supported too.

At the end of the day, I’m just a reader who loves books and making things, and I’m really lucky that I get to turn both into a business.
